Chiharu Kobayashi logged on to Sword Art Online at 1:23 PM.
She wandered up the stairs, calling down to her mother, Shoko. "Hey, kaa-san. Mind if I go play Sword Art Online?"
Shoko Kobayashi stuck her head around the corner, her hair spiked up and glasses fogged up.
"Sure, Chi-chan," Shoko grinned. "Just let me have a turn later, hmm?"
"Sure, kaa-saan," Chiharu was already halfway up the stairs.
"Just make sure you're down by dinner!"
Chiharu picked up her NerveGear and slid in the Sword Art Online cartridge, sitting in her little cushioned chair and putting the helmet on over her head. She looked at the display clock in the visor. 1:22. She was more than twenty minutes late for the server's launch, but there'd still be tons of people logging in. She closed her eyes, breathing in.
"Link Start!"
WELCOME TO SWORD ART ONLINE!
She typed in her username quickly, wincing as she had to go back and try again after messing up the English letters. She often forgot that her username had two 'n's. The avatar creation screen was surprisingly easy, and she made herself an avatar with vibrant red hair and eyes, a round face and short pigtails that just reached her jaw. Smiling at the appearance in front of her, she tapped the DONE icon. In a flash of blue light she spawned in the first city, and a beam spread over her face. She looked around, shocked at how realistic this world was, and dashed over to a NPC shop to buy a sword. Poring over the options, she chose a simple two-handed sword, spending almost all of her starting money on it. She grinned as she sheathed the blade at her belt and straightened her back, walking towards the field with a regal air about her. Despite the simple look of her leather breastplate, her red tunic and skirt, and her brown boots, she was impressive.
Princess Zinnia had returned.

About 40 minutes earlier, Stella sat in her room with a game controller in hand. She was just waiting for about maybe 10 seconds before the server's launch to get ready and was wasting time with another game.
Her room was all ready for when she'd use the NerveGear- the AC was on, she taped a note outside about how no one should interrupt her for a few hours or so, some snacks for whenever she logs out and such... But there were only a few as from the experience being a beta tester, she didn't really log out a lot unlike others. There wasn't much to do in the real world with her life anyways.
Stella glanced over to the clock on the screen and made a small grin. 12:58. Time to be quick then. She quickly turned off the screen and game controller, checked the temperature on the AC, grabbed the NerveGear and SAO cartridge and got into bed. Checking the time again, it's was 12:59. Hahah, beaten yet again, time! She smiled to herself and slid in the cartridge, placing the helmet on as well.
A few more seconds...
"Link start."
It took her a while to remember the name she had chosen for this account, which made her slightly late. It bugged her, even if it was just around a minute or so, but oh well. Looking at the avatar creation screen, she made her avatar have an oval face, hair being messy with a dirty-blonde like color but tinted orange instead of yellow, reaching just pass her shoulders, and had orange eyes. She just... Had a thing with orange, really.
Finishing and pressing done, she closed her eyes as she got into the real game. Not that much people, but that was expected, the server just launched. Well, better start up while there aren't much crowds anyways. Going to the weapon npc, she quickly got the rapier and gave the money in return. Walking around the less crowded areas of the starting city with her black shirt, leather armor, plain pants and boots, Akari Kuragari stayed silent while watching the other players interact.

Zinnia grinned as she spotted an enemy spawning. A boar, by the looks. She pulled out her sword, and made a rather uncoordinated swing at the creature, missing and actually hitting herself in the leg. She blushed furiously and looked around, hoping that nobody saw that.

Just a little longer, Akanoko thought to himself as the heated water fell over his body. He'd been nothing but excited for the release of the game, he'd been the first one in line to pick up his copy. He'd jumped into the shower as soon as he'd gotten home, not that there was anyone else to care, but he really didn't like the idea of being dirty, especially since he was probably going to be playing for a very, very, very long time. Off the water went and out he stepped. Dried off and clothed he moved over to his bed. "I'll try and be back before tomorrow night," He spoke out to his empty one room apartment, pretty standard for a single independent person. He slid his NerveGear on and laid back on his bed.
"Link...Start"
Welcome to Sword Art Online!
The message sent an immediate smile over the weary face of a lonely boy. "Wain Tojun, Signing on," He spoke out as his username was entered. Avatar creation was pretty quick. A tall simple form, red eyes, black hair. It didn't match him completely, but then again, it didn't need to~ A quick tap of the big blue 'Done' icon in front of him and suddenly the new world was before him.
A deep breath of synthetic yet somehow perfect air entered through his nose, "Ahh~" He sighed happily as he let the deep breath out. "Home~" He moved smoothly to the nearest NPC shop with weaponry in stock. It didn't take long, he knew exactly what kind of weapon he was looking for. "There you are." He bought himself the earliest form of claymore and backed from the shop. "You and I," He smiled as he held his new rather large blade aloft, "We're going to carve a brand new, better, life~"

Sadly, there was, she just didn't make much sound to be noticed behind some of the rocks and trees nearby, though she did sigh at that failed attempt. Akari couldn't blame her though, the kid must have been one of the players who weren't in the beta, and didn't knew how the battles work around here or something...
She looked around and saw another boar- her head tilted to the left slightly as she made a small smile. She could show it to her... Akari ran out of her "hiding place"(if she was even hiding in the first place)and got into position for the pre-motion before thrusting her rapier into the boar.
"Hey." She called out to Zinnia as she took a few steps away from the boar. "There's a certain pre-motion, or otherwise "position", you need to be in to actually use a move. If you can't do it the first time, try again." Akari stopped talking for a bit to dodge the now agitated boar's attack. "You have to watch out once you get it though. The monsters around here become agitated once you hurt them. Also-" Thrusting into the monster again, she took a potion out from her inventory "-watch out for your health, kiddo. This may be a game, but still. Not that nice to instantly die right from the start, hm?" She threw the item over to the other girl and finished off the boar she was fighting.
"Your turn." Akari said with a blank look on her face as if it was nothing. Though I guess it really was nothing to her.

Zinnia blushed instantly, but drank the potion.
"Ooh. Tastes like jam," she remarked, lifting her sword and trying to mimic Akari's pose. It took her a moment, given that her sword was two-handed while Akari's wasn't, but after some trial and error her sword suddenly glowed brightly before Zinnia felt like she was being yanked forwards by the hands, blade lancing out and cutting a boar. She laughed, doing the pose again and again flying forwards. A third attack reduced the boar to glittering polygons.
"That was so cool!" she beamed. "Thanks! I'm Zinnia,"

"Man~" Wain had been in other VRMMO's before but nothing could even touch this, it was beautiful. He hadn't even gotten to to fight anything yet,but he already felt as if he could spend forever in this game. It didn't take him too long to make his way out unto the field. There were a good few players out and about, exploring and doing some early leveling before the opening ceremony. "Alright," Wain gave a smirk as he unsheathed the large claymore from his back and started about venturing a bit further off from the rest of the players, "Can't let any of those lucky beta-testers get ahead of me~"

"Akari Kuragari. Just call me Akari though." She stated, looking around the area for any other activity or so. That was a little bit of a strange habit of hers- to watch how people interact, which leads to her almost never really looking at the people she's talking to when in a wide open area. She took notice of the other players... Kind of at least.
"... Judging from how you fought, you're a new player, hm...? Not a beta tester and all..." Akari said, glancing at Zinnia for a while before looking away again.

Zinnia laughed before straightening her back.
"No, I wasn't in the beta. I'm new to Virtual Reality, although I've played loads of MMOs before this. I was lucky to pre-order a copy of Sword Art Online though. Kaa-san and I are sharing the game,"

"Kaa-san...??" Akari tilted her head at that. Oh well, nevermind that now, she doesn't need to know a person's life story if this leads to that.
"Well, you are lucky then, I guess... But SAO clearly is a lot different from other MMOs, hm? No actual magic and all- just skills... Sword skills..." The older girl said, while she twirled her rapier in her right hand.
